It has been a while since I last gave an update on the Penn State Ice Hockey team, so here are some recent updates! Currently the team is 6-5 this season and is constantly getting better according to coach. They recently faced off against the Schenectady Union and even though they could not come up with the win it showed a lot about the team. Union being ranked #6 in the entire nation has been Penn State’s toughest opponent all year. With that being said, Penn State was able to hang with them all game, already hinting towards a bright future. Shortly after losing to Union, the Lions were able to defeat the #1 club team in the nation, Arizona State. Whether they win or not, the team is showing rapid improvement each game in their first season together.
The organization is not done yet though! They have already set out to strengthen their team next year as well. They have done this by reaching out to five top-recruits from around the globe to come play hockey at Penn State next year. The new additions to the team can only mean good things for years to come. As long as Penn State continues to improve every year, we could possibly see them moving up to be a top team in the nation. Finally, what new team would be complete without a new stadium? The team’s new multi-million dollar stadium should be ready for next season and it is sure to attract many new fans. It’s going to be fun to watch such a new team progress over my next four years at Penn State!
